Mountain Beards vs. City Beards

Out in the backcountry, letting your beard grow wild and free is a way of life. Nobody will judge your messy scruff when you’re chopping wood or tending to the crops. Investing time in grooming your facial hair seems like a waste when there’s more important work to be done. As a matter of fact, a bushier beard is advantageous in cold climes, serving as a natural face warmer. The cows will never criticize you for looking like Charles Manson.

But taking your beast to the city is a whole other animal. While country beards are more functional, city beards are all about style. Your smelly, scruffy face rug won’t cut it at fancier restaurants, bars and during social interactions with city folk. This doesn’t mean that you’ll have to spend half your life in front of the bathroom mirror but you will need to put a little more effort into beard maintenance and grooming in the city.

The best shortcut to getting your beard in order is picking up a jar of Mr. Rugged’s Bold Beard Balm. This balm works extra hard to smooth out the rough edges, so you don’t have to. Mr. Rugged’s balm is infused with argan, rice bran, cedar wood and jojoba seed oils which wrap around your beat up follicles, making them easy to tame and style. Mango and tucum seed butters are added to lubricate and nourish your beard, leaving it lustrous and ready for city living. Plus, Mr. Rugged’s balm imparts a pleasant smell, allowing you to walk into a room without dragging the funk of fertilizer behind you.
